Woodcrest Kennel LLC has been a continuous member of the Pet Care Services Association (PCSA) & American Boarding Kennels Association (ABKA) since 2001.

A characteristic common to all professional pet care providers is a deep love and respect for animals. This is their basic motivation for establishing their businesses. In 1977, however, a dedicated group of boarding facility operators recognized that the love of animals, by itself, was not enough to guarantee the development of professional standards of pet care within the industry. Also needed were educational opportunities for pet care professionals, to enable them to stay abreast of developments in pet care, and some method of establishing and promoting a high level of ethical conduct within the industry. To achieve these goals, these concerned boarding facility operators founded ABKA, American Boarding Kennels Association.

ABKA is the non-profit trade association for over 3000 pet care service businesses in the United States and around the world. ABKA views pets as important, loving members of our families. For that reason, ABKA members are committed to provide security, safety, sanitation, professional supervision and loving care for the pets in their care. ABKA members recognize that the bond between pet owners and their pets is a deep, emotional and uplifting relationship and that the ABKA member must do everything possible to protect and enhance that relationship. For that reason ABKA members always strive to provide helpful information, high-quality pet services and understanding assistance to their customers. ABKA members are your best source for all pet services.

As of early 2008 the ABKA became the PCSA or Pet Care Services Association. “During the past ten years there has been seen a shift in the focus of its membership from facilities that offer an almost exclusive emphasis on boarding kennel services to include those that also feature grooming shops, pet training, and dog daycare services. Recognizing the importance of these additional services to the pet care industry and to pet owners in particular, ABKA’s Board of Directors voted to change the organization’s name to the Pet Care Services Association.”

All dogs staying at our facility must be up to date with their vaccinations. Proof of vaccination is required. Please review our Vaccination Policy.
